The Lindstrom 2019 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir shows the classic characters of this noted AVA. Produced entirely from two Dutton Ranch vineyards in the Green Valley area of Russian River Valley, the fruit for this cool-climate Pinot Noir grows in light-textured soils and wind currents blowing directly from the Pacific Ocean. Foggy mornings and cool afternoons translate into a wine that shows remarkable complexity and a natural fruit acidity. Harvested between September 17 and 24, 2019, this lovely Pinot Noir shows aromas of warm strawberries, baking spices, toasted grains and a touch of rhubarb. On the palate, the texture is round, soft, and plush at entry, with fruit and toasty vanilla flavors tightly integrated. Bright fresh berry flavors endure throughout the palate, with a fresh, crisp finish. The coastal origins of this wine are hinted at with the very slightly saline notes at the entry and again at the finish. A total of 215 cases were produced. - Tasting notes by Celia Welch
