95-98 Jasper Morris, MW - Inside Burgundy

A noble imperial purple robe, heavenly perfume, just grows. This is ripe but absolutely balanced. Healthy sweet generous fruit yet still with some delicacy and comes in to a drier finish on the oak – which we know at this domaine will integrate without difficulty later on. Jean-Nicolas feels that Echezeaux really needs to be aged as much as Clos de Vougeot does. Tasted: November 2019.
