Shimmering red. Smoked-tinged red berry, cherry and lavender pastille aromas show very good clarity and pick up a hint of licorice with air. Broad and chewy on the palate, offering sweet black raspberry, cherry and spice cake flavors that become more lively on the back half. The mineral note returns on a persistent, dark-berry driven finish framed by velvety, well knit tannins.
Product Description:
Deeply colored, our second vintage of Cortada Alta Pinot Noir showcases depth and intensity not often seen in the Santa Lucia Highlands. Aromas of ripe berries and cinnamon are framed with elegant rose petals, leading to a brooding palate of dark leather, cocoa nibs and forest floor. The elevation of the vineyard allows our fruit extra hang time and leads to an immaculate and unique texture with firm tannins and a long, fresh finish. This wine gets us excited for the potential of our new vineyard, with years of discovery to come.
