Just Vieilles Vignes on the label as the vines, despite being all one plot, cross over the border from Faconnières into Chenevery. They were planted in 1936, 1942/43 and 1952. Lovely mid-purple with a beautifully classy nose, this has perfume plus fruit weight plus a suggestion of high-class intensity and complexity. A wonderful, complex and energetic finish! This is probably the best 2017 Morey St Denis 1er Cru I have tasted. Tasted: March 2019

"This special cuvée is perhaps the most consistently exceptional wine of this domaine, with a depth that is always generous and appealing. It has it all: presence, length, power and finesse. The grapes for this wine are sourced from a contiguous parcel of .53 hectares that traverses the two 1er Cru sites of “Les Faconnieres” and “Les Chenevery” which sit immediately beneath the Grand Cru “Clos de la Roche”, and possesses that ineffable Grand Cru stature. The vines were planted in 1947 and 1960." - Importer
