91-93Antonio Galloni - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"Burguet's 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin Mes Favorites Vieilles Vignes is a dark, inward wine. This isn't one of the more open 2009s, rather it is a wine that is likely to require a measure of patience. Deep layers of minerality add to the sensation of thrust and drive on the finish. The Vieilles Vignes is a selection of 70+ year old vines across 18 different parcels with average yields well below 30 hectoliters per hectare. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2029."
93 John Gilman - View from the Cellar
"The 2009 old vine cuvée of Mes Favorites is quite structured and reserved out of the blocks, but with a great core and superb balance that guarantees great drinking once the requisite bottle age has been accomplished. The superb nose offers up scents of red and black cherries, raw cocoa, great minerality, mustard seed, woodsmoke and a deft framing of spicy new wood. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and beautifully reserved, with excellent mid-palate depth, firm, but fine-grained tannins and outstanding length and grip on the nascently complex and beautifully balanced finish. Year in and year out this is top premier cru quality, and this is certainly the case with the excellent 2009 version. 2018-2050."
