Alexandre Penet's 2008 Grand Cru Millésime Prestige Grande Réserve is a single-village grand cru from Verzy and is a blend of 70% Pinot Noir with 30% Chardonnay. White-golden in color, this displays a delicate, pure and fresh Pinot aroma intertwined with delicate brioche and discreet nougat notes on the nose. Pure, fresh and straight on the palate, this is a highly elegant, lightweight and filigreed yet firmly structured cuvée with a long, complex, stimulatingly salty and refreshing citrusy finish. No malolactic done. Bottled in May 2009, disgorged as Extra Brut on the 30th of August, 2017. Tasted in July 2018.
