"This blend of Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris comes from our renowned vineyards around Oberhausen in the central Nahe region. The grapes are harvested, pressed, and fermented together – ensuring a harmonious blend of both varieties from the very beginning. The vines grow on volcanic weathered rock and waterlogged loess loam. These deep soils give the wine substance, subtle spice, and an elegant structure. The wine is aged for six months in the traditional double barrel – a large oak barrel with a capacity of 2400 liters. Only one barrel of this cuvée, which also gives the wine its name, is produced each year. The result is an expressive, balanced Burgundy with depth, richness and a clear signature – powerful but never heavy, carried by freshness and fine balance."-Winery
