2016 Cafaggio Basilica Del Cortaccio Cabernet Sauvignon 96 Points Decanter
"Cafaggio is first mentioned in 1408, noted at the end of that century as a property of the Benedictine monks of Siena. Nowadays, the winery produces several labels in classical Tuscan appellations, as well as IGT wines. Basilica del Cortaccio is produced from 4.2ha planted with five different clones of Cabernet Sauvignon at 355m altitude, and is farmed organically. Fermented in stainless steel then aged for 18 months in second-use French oak barriques. Susan Hulme MW: Lovely complex nose cedar, spice and blackberry, very smooth and harmonious palate. Andrea Briccarello: Clean, coffee notes, roasted and intense notes of juicy fruits, charming spices and jam. Annette Scarfe MW: Pure blackcurrant leaf with an energetic vibrant mid-palate – fresh and attractive.."
2019 Myka Central Coast Chardonnay 90 Points Wine Enthusiast
"Restrained on the nose, this bottling offers citrus peel and pith, with tight alkaline and dried earth aromas. There is a clean, chalky grip to the sip, where the baking-soda-like minerality frames white fleshed fruit and more citrus-pith flavors."
2018 Domaine Capmartin Les Vieilles Vignes Aoc Madiran 93 Points Wine Enthusiast
"A blend of old-vine Tannat (some that avoided phyloxera) and Cabernet Sauvignon brings together richness and dark black fruits. They are underpinned by the tannic structure that marks the wine out as young. Oak aging in large barrels has started the smoothing process which will take more time. Drink from 2022. Organic. -RV"
