The 2020 Barbaresco Canova is powerful, deep and super-expressive. Sweet tobacco, mint, cedar, dried herbs, licorice and leather are all suggestive of a wine that is ready to drink. There's terrific depth here and tons of character. All this needs is perhaps a touch more freshness. Even so, the 2020 is a fine effort from Cascina Vano.
