The 2015 Lessona Riserva Vigna Cova is one of the very best wines I have tasted from Proprietà Sperino. It embodies everything Lessona and Alto Piemonte can be. The aromatics alone are simply beguiling. But the 2015 has plenty of textural depth and body too. Constantly changing in the glass, the 2015 will take readers on a fabulous ride. Superb.

When first tasted from barrel in 2018, this single-vineyard wine showed more tension and tautness than the regular Lessona. Four years on, it has become denser and less floral on the nose but the attack remains intense and assertive, with insistent tannins and ample grip without any suggestion of toughness. Impressive length.
