"Lurid ruby. Smoke-accented cherry and blackcurrant scents are complemented by suggestions of black pepper, licorice and cured meat. Taut and structured on the palate, offering dark berry and bitter cherry flavors that are sweetened by a subtle violet pastille nuance. Fine-grained tannins build steadily on the finish, which lingers with good, smoke-tinged persistence. There's something Syrah-like going on here. (all stainless steel)"

"Very similar to the Honoro Vera but produced from organically farmed, non-irrigated vines, the 2017 Honoro Vera Organic is also pure unoaked Monastrell with a fruit-driven profile and juicy texture. These organic vineyards yield up to 30% less than the other ones, and the grapes ripen fully and tend to have rounder tannins. I find the wines quite similar when young, but Miguel Gil told me they develop very differently. It has a juicy palate and fine-grained tannins. It has clean fruit aromas and a style that's easy to understand. Juicy and pleasant. Very good value. 216,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2018."

"Black cherry and currant flavors mingle with licorice, herbal and gamy notes in this firm red. The chewy tannins impart a rustic character, and the finish is a bit gamy. Decant. Drink now through 2027. 18,000 cases made, 7,000 cases imported. — TM"
This affordable red from Spain has a lot of juicy fruit. The alcohol makes it very full bodied. Lots of texture and tannins make the finish last a long time.
