The Bordeaux wine region is renowned for the heterogeneity of its soils and subsoils. To the right of the historic driveway leading to the Moulin d'Issan, lie our Bordeaux Supérieur appellation plots. These are the closest to the Gironde estuary. The soils are predominantly clay-limestone , making them well-suited to the Merlot grape , which is dominant in this part of the vineyard. It typically comprises 90% of the blend, a unique characteristic in the Médoc region. The ruins of the old 17th - century windmill from which the wine takes its name still stand in the heart of the vineyard. This wine, which captures the richness, suppleness, and fruitiness of its origins, has been produced since 1988. Annual production is approximately 80,000 bottles. Le Moulin d'Issan 2022 reveals aromas of ripe, luscious fruit, enhanced by subtle spicy notes. Its supple tannins offer a silky and well-integrated structure, creating perfect harmony. This wine stands out for its roundness and flavorful character, while also offering a beautiful range of aromas.
