Calimist is a collaboration between Ed McKenna, Chris Condos, and their winemaker/viticulturist Scott Zapotocky. The blend of 65% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 15% Cabernet Franc reveals its true character after a vigorous decanting. The wine opens with enticing aromas of red and black fruit, cedar, tobacco leaf, dark chocolate, baking spice, and a hint of wild mint. On the palate, it offers impeccable structure, with ripe tannins and vibrant acidity that perfectly balance the lush, spiced cherry and plum flavors. While it is already delicious, this wine has the potential to evolve gracefully over the next decade or more.
