"Intense aromas and flavors of black currant, green olive, cedar, tobacco and mineral mark this elegant, fluid red. Firms up, with well-appointed tannins marking the long finish. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2019 through 2030. 5,833 cases made. — BS"

"A wine with layers of ripe tannins and pretty fruit here. Medium body, fine texture and a delicious finish. Plenty of currant, mint and light wet earth. Excellent for the vintage. Drink now or hold."

"The 2014 Il Pino di Biserno is a bit restrained and lighter in this vintage, but nevertheless quite appealing. Raspberry jam, mocha, espresso, French oak and mint are given an extra kick of brightness from the late-ripening season."

Product Description:

"Il Pino di Biserno reflects the unique terroir of Bibbona, a blend of grapes which truly reflects a classic Alta Maremma wine, clearly a younger sibling of the eponymous Biserno. This, through rigorous selection of young vine grapes, is a fine ambassador for this estate, vintage after vintage, offering a harmonious, seductive style, Accessible and early-drinking, Il Pino reveals the potential character, finesse and elegance, of the property. The blend of Il Pino di Biserno consists of: Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and in some vintages Cabernet Sauvignon.

Notes of red cherries with some underlying oak adding spice and complexity. The palate is elegant and harmonious with fine, rounded tannins and a long polished finish. Still very young at the time of bottling in June 2016 the oak may seem a little dominant at first but gives way to more fruity notes after decanting or after a couple of minutes in the glass." - Winery
