"It is hard to believe this property's name could withstand a probable legal onslaught from the owners of Petrus, and, no doubt, Piedmont's Angelo Gaja. Apparently, the name dates back to the 14th century, but it does appear like an exploitation of two of the greatest names of winedom. In any event, it is a very good blend of 82% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon made under the guidance of consultant Stephane Derenoncourt. Its dark ruby/purple hue is followed by sweet aromas of blackberries, blueberries, smoke, and minerals. Fresh and lively, it is best consumed during its first 4-8 years of life."
