Product Description:
In the heart of the Saint-Joseph appellation, in Mauves to be precise, Bernard Gripa and his son Fabrice are making exceptional, rare wines from this appellation, as well as from the neighbouring Saint-Péray. Father and son favour manual, carefully-tended viticulture. Their white wines are sought-after for their exceptional texture, pleasant bitterness and rich aromas. This wine is made from Marsanne (predominantly) and Roussanne cultivated on granite and loess soils. It is fermented in stainless steel (20%) and oak (80%) vats and matured on its fine lees in demi-muids (50%) and oak (30%) and stainless steel (20%) barrels. This gives the wine a rounded and generous texture which is balanced by a pleasant fresh quality. The same freshness can be found on the nose with its delicate white flower and white fruit aromas. This white wine is excellent with food and will pair particularly well with stuffed poultry or risotto.
