"50% Malvasia, 50% Friulano . This brilliant white explosive on both the nose and the palate with notes of peach, apple, pear, white cranberry and almond, as well as flowers and crushed sea shell. A little bit of decanting doesn't hurt, as this should continue to evolve for another year or two in the bottle."
"Armonico, harmonious in English displays fresh, crisp, aromatics and flavors of citrus, apple, yellow peach, pineapple and almond with mineral notes, a vibrant, lively mouth feel and crisp acidity. Epitomizing the style and character of the best attributes of the Friuli zone, Armonico is produced from 20 year old vines, young by Bellanotte standards, on the estate vineyards of La Bellanotte. Armonico offers the opportunity to enjoy an artisan, Friulian white wine at a very, affordable price." -Importer
ESTATE:
"La Bellanotte is an artisan winery that encompasses eight hectares of vineyards situated between the terroirs of the Isonzo valley and Collio hills in Italy's north eastern corner near the border with Slovenia. Ezio Benassi, a Tuscan who fought in Friuli in World War II and after the war returned and purchased the property now known as La Bellanotte."
"The winery was refurbished in the early eighties and is under the direction of Paolo Benassi and his business partner Cristina Visintin. La Bellanotte produces a full range of white and red wines, along with a definitive Picolit desert wine. The all estate grown vineyards encompass the DOC sub zones of Collio and Isonzo. The soil is mainly calcareous with the presence of red gravel and a layer of ferrous stone. Harvesting is hand done with careful bunch selection in the winery."
"Careful vineyard management and quality focused, viticultural practices prepare the grapes for a cold pre-fermentation, maceration, which helps to extract the extraordinary, aromatic components found in the Fruili zone. The wines are made under the watchful eye of renowned, consulting oenologist, Andrea di Maio." -Importer
