Product Description:
Tzabaco Rancho Vineyard Malbec is grown in upper benchland soils of Manzanita loam, which provide well-drained, nutrient rich soil that imparts concentrated flavors and a “Right Bank Bordeaux-like” flavor profile.
The 2022 Rock and Clay Malbec was produced using a cold soak prior to fermentation and extended maceration after fermentation to achieve the desired level of extraction and polymerization of tannins. The wine was aged in a mixture of new and neutral French oak barriques for approximately 18 months. Saturated garnet in color. Aromas of blackberry, boysenberry, vanilla, black pepper and allspice lead into layered black fruit and spice flavors, with a textured mid palate, bright acidity and a lingering plum spice finish. ~ Winemaker's notes
