"The 2016 Grüner Veltliner Maulbeerpark is intensely shining with its yellow-golden color. The bouquet is still reductive but deep and complex, very intense and concentrated with spicy, terribly fresh tropical fruit and stewed ginger aromas. Full-bodied, rich, round and even slightly sweet on the palate, this is a very elegant, charming, lush but concentrated and terribly piquant Veltliner. The long, refined and aromatic finish is precise, with remarkably racy, vital acidity and crystallinity. The 2016 still tastes like a barrel sample, quite yeasty with fine bitterness and a tender tannic grip from the sur lie aging. Tasted in Vienna, September 2018."

"Tasted a month ahead of its anticipated July 2016 bottling but not expected to be on the market until early 2017, this delivers rich pear and apple fruit delightfully garlanded in lily-of-the-valley and mingled with invigorating lemony acidity that I wouldn’t have anticipated from this vintage or address. A satiny texture is complemented by infectious juiciness. Satisfying earthiness of lentil, accents of pear seed and toasted hickory nut, haunting inner-mouth floral perfume and incisive, crunchy cress make for a complex finishing dynamic. This bids fair to become the finest Maulbeerpark yet."
