Domaine du Bagnol, one of the 10 wine estates of the Cassis AOC, one of the top 5 wine appellations in France. The land and our vines are in the spotlight, in a unique landscape that transports our senses. The philosophy of Le Bagnol is our passion for winemaking and respect for our beautiful terroir. We are proud of our heritage and our vineyard with its Provençal character. It grows on soils composed of limestone rich in iron oxide from the scree of the cliffs. Their formation dates back approximately 115 million years and contains numerous fossilized shells of organisms, which rested at the bottom of the Urgonian seas. These exceptionally hard white limestones force the vine to root deep to draw on the minerals present in the soil. Many underground rivers flow beneath this massif. The sea, nearby, offers them other benefits. The constant sea breezes act as a thermal regulator and the salt deposited by the sea spray on the grapes gives the white Cassis wines an iodized touch, characteristic of their personality. An orange cliff plunging into the shimmering sea, the deep green of the vineyards on the plain, and the blue of the sky: this is the enchanting setting of Domaine du Bagnol, established in the heart of Cassis since 1867. The vineyard is located at the foot of Cap Canaille: one of the most beautiful sites in the town of Cassis. How can one not marvel at the Cassiden terroir and more precisely at these vines at the foot of one of the highest sea cliffs in Europe. Marvelous Cassis, the city in the colors of Provence. Its port, its coves, its Mediterranean, but above all... its vines! A vineyard evocative of an infinite palette of flavors, bathed in a light that has inspired so many great painters. Cradled by the sea and protected by limestone cliffs, the Cassiden vineyard is not only beautiful, it is also steeped in history.
