The story begins with our grandparents, winemakers Félix and Lucie. They passed on their passion for wine to their children, Paul and Pierre. Today, we—Françoise, Claire, Laurent, and Philippe—work together, combining our skills while respecting family tradition. Our credo: to create emotion and share our love of the land. In 1954, Paul Bunan, living in Oran, first heard about Bandol in a newspaper. Marlon Brando was having a love affair there with a young actress, the daughter of a local fisherman. He kept a photo of the American actor, and many years later, in 1961, the two brothers laid the foundations of Domaines Bunan in La Cadière d'Azur, creating the Moulin des Costes terroir. It was love at first sight for the Bandol region and its prestigious appellation. In 1969, Pierre Bunan bought Château la Rouvière in Castellet, a small terroir facing due south whose old Mourvèdre vines overlook the sea.
Then in 1978, the two brothers re-established the Bélouvé vineyard, formerly owned by religious orders, to create a Côtes de Provence appellation wine. Together, these three distinct terroirs (Moulin des Costes, Château la Rouvière and Bélouvé) form one entity: Domaines Bunan.
In crafting our wine, our family of winemakers embodies a philosophy of authenticity. Together, we nurture and grow the family estate, respecting traditions to pass on a legacy with deep roots. Thus, we name each of our oak casks in homage to a family member, keeping this heritage alive. Fruity, crisp and lively and with lovely flavors of white peach and a hint of light raspberry. Ripe peach aromas and floral notes lead to a palate alive with wild strawberries and hints of mineral notes. Crisp acidity and a refreshing finish this is the ideal everyday Rosé.
Pair with light salads, pastas and rice dishes, especially good with seafood, raw and lightly cooked shellfish, grilled fish and goats’ cheeses.
