Winegrowers for generations in the South of France, the Boulle family cultivates vines on the Plan de Dieu plateau. Lacking their own winery, they deliver their harvests to cooperatives in the surrounding villages. Daniel Boulle, passionate about his work, longed to vinify his own production to best express the potential of his vines. With his wife, Hélène, they decided to build their dream winery themselves. Domaine Les Aphillanthes, established in 1999, marked the beginning of a family adventure rooted in a love of winemaking and nature. For several years, I worked 35 hectares of vines with my father, with the utmost respect for the vines and using traditional techniques such as hand-harvesting and organic fertilization. In 2003, the family naturally pursued organic and biodynamic certification for the estate. Between 2009 and 2014, we also expanded the vineyard by purchasing plots on the slopes of Rasteau, the village where I was born, and plots in the commune of Gigondas. Today, the vineyard covers 40 hectares, composed of various grape varieties and appellations, in order to offer you a wide range of wines: IGP Vaucluse, AOP Côtes-du-Rhône, Côtes-du-Rhône-villages (Plan de Dieu and Sainte-Cécile), Rasteau, Gigondas and Vins de France. Our Domaine Les Aphillanthes champions traditional methods in harmony with the surrounding environment. This value, combined with our family's passion for viticulture, drives us to constantly seek new working methods in order to preserve the soil and vines and improve our winemaking. With the arrival of our son, Cyril, at the beginning of 2022, the estate is beginning to evolve and diversify to be better able to cope with climate change and its uncertainties. For 20 years, this family business has exported worldwide and boasts a wide range of quality products. We pride ourselves on conveying our passion for our craft, while also being mindful of the environment. Name Gigondas Grape varieties: Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvèdre Long, traditional winemaking process with indigenous yeast Breeding in a concrete tank Food and wine pairing: Red meat, Lamb, Duck breast, Roast wood pigeon, Autumn risotto
