Moving to the reds, the 2017 Vacqueyras is terrific and has a complex, lifted, perfumed style in its bright plum, cherry, violets, and sappy floral aromas and flavors. Medium to full-bodied, beautifully textured and layered on the palate, it’s shows the ripe, sexy, Provençal style of the vintage beautifully. This cuvée is 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, and the rest Mourvèdre, destemmed and brought up all in concrete tanks.

In this wine, elegant notes of charred earth and stone accent ripe but restrained cassis and mulberry flavors. A luscious but savory, firmly structured blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, it's lifted by swathes of sun-dried thyme and mint. Ready now, the wine should drink well through 2027.
