Created in 1970 by Jean-Jacques Mélinand, Domaine des Marrans is now managed by the second generation: Mathieu since 2009 and his brother Camille joined him in 2019, giving new impetus to the business.
The estate is located in Fleurie, 50km north of Lyon, in the heart of the Beaujolais wine region.
The 20 hectares of vines we cultivate are divided as follows:
– 11.5 ha of Fleurie with 3 cuvées: “ Clos du Pavillon ”, “ La Roche Champagne ” and “ Les Marrans ”
– 2.5 ha of Chiroubles “Aux Côtes”
– 2 ha of Morgon “Corcelette”
– 3 ha in the Beaujolais and Beaujolais-Villages
appellations – 1 ha of Chardonnay in the Beaujolais Blanc appellation
Gamay Noir à Jus Blanc is the only grape variety used for red wines.
Our Beaujolais Blanc is made from Chardonnay.
The vineyard is currently in conversion to organic farming, with certification expected for the 2024 vintage.
