Cooler vintages like 2021 can reveal a wine's complexity more than a warmer vintage, and so does this bottle, with an intoxicating nose of red and black cherry, forest floor, cedar plank, black plum and hay with a hint of mint and fennel. The wine has a concentrated, granitic midpalate with a mix of tart and ripe fruit and some chalkiness on the long finish.
