From four parcels in Saint-Amour’s sandy red granite comes Cheveau’s “Villa Violettes”, comprising Gamay vines planted between 1963 and 2018. Destemmed and vinified with no added sulfur, this cuvée spends 10 months in stainless steel before bottling, and its sappy core of blackberries is offset nicely by high tones of sweet spices and tiny flowers. The acidity is tangy and vibrant, adding a nice crunch to the luscious fruit and underlining the elegance for which this cru is renowned.
