92-95Robert Parker - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The stunning 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes (from 80-100+ year old vines) gives some credibility to the vignerons' arguments that in the drought-stricken 2009 growing season, the northern Chateauneuf du Pape parcels were less impacted than those in the south. Domaine La Milliere's vineyards are all in the northern sector. The deep ruby/purple-hued 2009 possesses abundant blackberry, black cherry and cassis fruit intermixed with notions of camphor, truffles, garrigue and licorice. Dense, thick and rich, it is potentially one of the few 2009 Chateauneuf du Papes that will eclipse its 2007 counterpart. An opulent, voluptuous texture, long finish and heady combination of herbs and super-concentrated fruit make for a wine that can be drunk upon release or cellared for 12-15 years."
