Product Description:
"I have been impressed with these Champagnes for a number of years but somehow have allowed my reviews to fall through the cracks. From the small village of Celles-sur-Ource (which has the distinction of being home to the largest number of estate bottlers, 75 according to importer Dan Kravitz, of any village in Champagne), Jean Laurent produces impressive Champagnes that are accessible young and demonstrate the ability to stand the test of time. While this is a traditional house, to Laurent's credit, all of the bottles carry their date of disgorgement, which is essential information for buyer's looking for the freshest sparkling wines. For statisticians, this is an estate of 35 acres, of which a whopping 30 are planted with Pinot Noir and only 5 with Chardonnay. Interestingly, there is no Pinot Meunier. The average age of the vines is about 20 years." -Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
