The 2024 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast comes from the Martinelli family’s Charles Ranch, where the vines were planted in 1982 at 1,115 feet in elevation and just three miles from the Pacific Ocean. Matured for 12 months in 10% new French oak barrels, it has inviting scents of red apple, white peach, panna cotta, pie crust and spice. The full-bodied palate has a satiny texture and expansive, savory flavors. A bright spine of acidity adds tension, and it has a long, energetic finish. 3,429 cases were made.
