En Remilly is one of Saint-Aubin’s jewel vineyards, sitting at the southern end of the village right on the border of Grand Cru Chevalier-Montrachet. Fornerot’s south-facing plot was planted in 1988 at about 300 meters of elevation, and the wine shows exactly why Burgundy people get excited about this site. There is real power here, but it is beautifully balanced, with golden apple, lemon, white florals, pure fruit, strong minerality and a long, salty finish. Simply delicious.
