Laure and Virgile Lignier have been at the helm of the estate for 20 years, combining their efforts to harvest high-quality grapes, the primary requirement for producing great wines.
This is why they have always cultivated their vines with the utmost respect for Burgundy's terroirs and biodiversity.Domaine Lignier-Michelot is located in Morey-Saint-Denis, in the Côte de Nuits, at the heart of Burgundy's great wine-growing regions. The village of Morey-Saint-Denis is ideally situated on the Route des Grands Crus, between Chambolle-Musigny to the south and Gevrey-Chambertin to the north. The appellation covers nearly 150 hectares and boasts five Grands Crus, including the illustrious Clos Saint-Denis and Clos de la Roche.
This Chardonnay-based wine is the only white wine produced by the estate; hence, we named it after our daughter. More than 2,000 bottles are produced each year under the Coteaux Bourguignons appellation. The soil is clay and well-drained. This wine is vinified with moderate use of sulfur dioxide (SO2) and aged for 12 months in 30% new oak barrels. Gentle lees stirring is carried out at the end of fermentation and during aging.
Domaine Lignier-Michelot is a family story that began 3 generations ago in the village of Morey-Saint-Denis.
