Unsurprisingly, fruit for this cuvee is primarily sourced (80%) from three lieux-dits in Meursault (Les Magny, Murger des Limozins, Les Herbeux) with the rest evenly split between Volnay (Mon Poulain) and Pommard (L’Aumone) just to the north.  There is an impressive amount of character and tension for a wine at this price point, and Burgundy buyers around the US have taken note.  With an idyllic growing season, the 2022 is particularly chiseled with flinty freshness on the palate, great weight and some subtle oak surrounding the stone and tropical fruit core. The finish is soft and kept totally in line with Girardin's telltale spine of minerality.  It's the complete package, and once again a wine that over-delivers from this incredible domaine.
