92 Neal Martin - Vinous Media

The 2018 Chablis Les Fourneaux Vieilles Vignes 1er Crucomes from just over a hectare of 45-year-old vines and sees 8–15 months in stainless steel. It has an earthy bouquet, not a million miles away from an aged Chenin Blanc, with touches of wet wool. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, light orange pith and lemon zest notes and a fine sense of harmony toward the finish. This is a lovely Fourneaux from Angele and Ludovic Barat.
