The 2015 Pouilly Fuisse les Carrons Vieilles Vignes was tasted from barrel. It comes from vines around a century old and there are just five barrels this vintage. It has an intense bouquet with lemon thyme and orange blossom infusing the citrus fruit, just a touch of sea spray in the background. The palate is slightly viscous on the entry, almost Condrieu-like, with wild honey, acacia and a tang of marmalade segueing into a generous, quite sensual finish. No, it it not the most inexpensive Pouilly-Fuissé, but there is class embroidered into this wine.
