The source of the fruit for this excellent cabernet is the vineyards in Wilyabrup in this very good cabernet year. An opening salvo of blackcurrant and dark chocolate, and plummy nuances announces this as Margaret River cabernet. Itβs generous and intense, but more towards elegance and medium-bodied. Seamlessly integrated, with the use of 30% French oak adding a little palate kick. A complete and polished cabernet.

A sweet fruited, warm and generous embrace of Margaret River Cabernet. The region does it so well, its Mediterranean climate providing some well-ripened black fruits here β blackberry, dark plum, cassis β with background notes of woody spices, anise, vanillin oak, leaf, earth, briar and a tantalising hint of eucalyptus. Approachability is high with its soft, round curves and overall elegance. Some smart oak integration and immediate drinking pleasure right now will have drinkers tossing up whether to open now or wait a little longer. Why not both? Mid-term ageing is definitely on the cards.
