The 2020 Bernard Magrez offers plenty of ripe black cherries, blueberry and wild strawberry fruit on the powerful nose; light orange pith scents filter through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins that frame layered blackberry and blueberry fruit infused with cedar and graphite. Almost Pauillac-like in style, it feels very controlled on the finish, which is where I was hoping to find a little more complexity.
