Wild fermented before being aged in all-French oak for 18 months, 40% new. Minimum effective SO2 added.
It’s a complex, undergrowthy cabernet. It doesn’t boast a lot of fruit weight or depth but it makes up for it by way of charm, array of flavours and sheer drinkability. Boysenberry as much as blackcurrant, tobacco and herbs, soy and soil, game. Smoky/chocolatey oak plays a role but a low level one. Not your standard fare.

"Tasting note: 2014 Inkwell Pressure Drop Cabernet Sauvignon is Cabernet made the way we grew up loving it - intensely flavoured without the weight found in more common higher alcohol styles. Hand picked, fermented wild and cellared in first class French oak barrels for 18 months prior to bottling. Has visibly improved and evolved in bottle since then.
Inkwell’s 2014 estate grown single vineyard Cabernet was grown on sandy loam over Pirramimma Sandstone geological formation. Minimum effective SO2 added."
