Antonio Galloni - Vinous:

"The 2013 Le Difese is absolutely gorgeous. Sweet, layered and highly expressive, the 2013 possesses superb balance. Sweet red cherry, tobacco, mint, cedar and spice take on a translucent sense of expression. This is one of the best versions of Le Difese I can remember tasting.

"Tenuta San Guido fans will find much to admire in these new releases. The entry-level Le Difese and mid-tier Guidalberto are both strong (something that is not always the case), while the 2012 Sassicaia looks like it will drink well early relative to its historical track record. Sassicaia remains the most classic of the big Tuscan wines, with an emphasis on aromatic freshness and acidity that is the result of picking earlier than is common in most neighboring properties. I was quite impressed with the wines I tasted on my most recent visit a few months ago."

Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate:

"Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese make up the 2013 Le Difese. The wine opens to a garnet hue and medium consistency. It's easy-drinking style is reinforced by bright berry flavors of blueberry and cassis followed by sour cherry and cranberry. This vintage is slightly thornier and more acidic than the warmer vintages that precede it. It also shows an extra touch of elegance and persistency. The wine is silky and tight on the close with a long sense of berry freshness that keeps it alive on the palate."

Product Description:

"The vineyards are planted on plots of land with different and composite morphological characteristics, as well as with a strong presence of limestone. These areas are also rich in rocks and rather rich in clay and are located at an altitude between 100 and 300 meters above sea level, facing West - South/West." -Winery
