"A rich, powerful expression of black licorice, graphite, dark berry and cedary, toasty oak, this is well-proportioned and focused, with all the elements headed in the right direction. The tannins are edgy, in a pleasing way. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2028. 4,900 cases made."

"The 2013 Proprietary Red Blend (15.2% alcohol) shows gorgeously sweet tannins that involve a voluptuously textured, full-bodied, stunningly rich wine with loads of blue, black and red fruits. It has the full fruit spectrum, terrific aromatics and a real opulence and richness. The freshness of the 2013 might even eclipse that of 2012, so this could be a 20-year wine in the making. Some new cuvées seem to have entered Pahlmeyer’s portfolio. I guess making two world-class red wines, their Merlot and Proprietary Red was just not enough of a challenge for Jayson Pahlmeyer! "
