"A joint venture of Concha y Toro and Château Mouton Rothschild, Almaviva made a wonderful red in 2010. Full-bodied, it shows purity of fruit, with violets, currants and hints of mint, and has ultra-fine tannins and a long, intense finish. Needs three or four years to soften. Mostly cabernet sauvignon."

Product Description:

"The Almaviva wine exists thanks to the joint venture between Concha y Toro and Baron Philippe de Rothschild, responsible for Chateau Mouton Rothschild in Bordeaux, France. Combining great winemaking traditions and innovations, the main objective of this partnership was to create an exceptional wine in the heart of the valley of the Maipo, in Chile. And every vintage of Almaviva has expressed this vision since its first harvest in 1996.

Almaviva is produced from 63 hectares of the exclusive and recognized terroir of Puente Alto, in the upper part of the Maipo valley. It is a unique wine prepared under the concept of French Chateau. This wine in a classic Bordeaux Blend in which the main variety is Cabernet Sauvignon, accompanied by Carmenere and Cabernet Franc." -Winery
