"The Fass X is fermented off-dry from holdings farmed by local winemakers under grape-purchase contracts on the original parts of the Ayler Scheidterberg. The wine offers a great nose of ginger, tea and spices. The feel on the palate is intense but light and airy. A flowery side comes through in the medium-long but delicious finish. This gorgeous food wine should drink well over a number of years. 2014-2019."

"The 'Barrel X' is a punchy 'Feinherb' (off-dry) style. This is a serious wine that has quickly established a serious fan base. If Lauer could double or triple the production here, it would still sell out. A beautiful Riesling with a really fine nose, a sweet/tart perfume of pear, peach and apricot that is forward, juicy and friendly. In this warmer vintage, the overall palate-effect is a wash of cool tones, stone fruits straight out of the refrigerator, with a finessed and solid grip to it. The silver markings on the label indicate that this is an 'estate' wine, sourced from various sites in Ayle, Saarburg and Wawern." -Importer
