Jay Miller - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
"The 2004 Tocs was sourced from a single vineyard and is composed of 35% Garnacha, 30% Syrah, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Merlot aged for 16 months in 80% new French oak. Opaque purple-colored, it delivers a stimulating perfume of wood smoke, slate, espresso, blackberry, and black currant. Harmonious, ripe, and loaded with spicy red and black fruits, the wine has tons of flavor and a 60-second finish. It will evolve for several years and provide pleasure through 2020."

"Vibrant cherry and blackberry aromas are underscored by bright mineral and exotic floral qualities; this received serious oak treatment but I don't find the wood intrusive. Sweet red fruit flavors are subtly complemented by floral pastille and Indian spices. The long, gently tannic finish features spicy, building flavors of redcurrant and cherry. A sample of the proposed 2005 version was almost as good, perhaps a tad more energetic but less deep."
