John Gilman - View from the Cellar:
"The 2009 Chambolle “Baudes” is just a tad riper in style than the stunning Nuits “Boudots”, but does not cross the line into overripeness and maintains lovely freshness in its slightly more broad-shouldered style. The fine, black fruity nose offers up scents of black cherries, dark chocolate, fresh herbs, violets, soil tones, vanillin oak and a nice touch of violets in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and tangy, with ripe tannins, fine focus and very good length and grip. Good juice. 2018- 2040."
