"Pale gold. Fresh, spicy scents of lemon zest and orange, deepened by subtle vanilla and mace qualities. Dusty, finely etched citrus and orchard fruit flavors display impressive depth and energy, finishing with youthful grip and impressive spicy persistence." -91 points- Josh Raynolds- International Wine Cellar
"The white wines begin with the light gold-colored 2006 Expatrie Reserve Semillon. It exhibits a perfume of mineral, spring flowers, honeysuckle, and lemon custard. Supple-textured, dry, ripe, and balanced, it offers up plenty of mid-palate fruit leading to a lengthy finish." -90 points- Jay Miller- Wine Advocate
"The old-vine Semillon from Australia is legendary- bright yellow and sizable, made from vines planted by Silesian immigrants at the beginning of the last century before any other variety became fashionable. The grapes are handpicked from vineyards in the Eden and Barossa Valleys, into shallow trays and soft pressed as whole bunches to capture fruitiness."
"The Semillon grapes are selected from blocks of old vines in the Barossa Ranges and Eden Valleys. The cool climate of the Eden Valley supplies the grapes for the small percentage of Riesling that is added as a natural replacement for the sometimes inevitable (but not in this case) tartaric acid. All grapes are hand-picked into shallow trays before transport to the winery." -Winery
