"Pujanza Norte is the emerging star of Rioja, a big wine with great personality, elegant, full of suggestive nuances, great depth, concentrated, complex (fruit, mineral notes, tobacco, spices and balsamic notes). Great balance, a solid wine, simply sensational."
"The 2004 Pujanza Norte is the best vintage of this wine since the debut 2001. Produced from a high elevation, low yielding vineyard, the wine is 60% Tempranillo and 40% other varietals. It was fermented in large oak and then spent 16 months in new French barriques. Purple-colored, it emits a splendid array of pain grille, scorched earth, pencil lead, black currant and blackberry that leaps from the glass. On the palate this full-bodied wine is opulent with layers of spicy fruit, a velvety texture due to the well-concealed tannins, terrific delineation, and an exceptionally long finish. This well-made wine has enough baby-fat to be drunk now but will benefit from 4-6 years of additional cellar time. It should provide pleasure through 2025." -93 Points - Jay Miller - The Wine Advocate
