"To me .... Perfect Summer Wine"

Those are the words of the star of Wine Library TV, Gary Vaynerchuk, after tasting today's incredible value case buy!  (Watch the full video below)
The quality here is outrageous. While the complexity on the mid palate of this wine is structured more like a White Burgundy in the $30-$40 price point, today’s wine retails for $15.99 and drops to $14.99/bottle with free shipping by the case. When you consider the structure it offers - and the amount of money you spend on other everyday wines - this is a summer steal.
Bottom line, this is a white wine discovery fans of both red and white wine will flip for.  At this price, it's a no brainer summer buy.

Absolutely Exciting.  Those are the best words to use to describe this 92 Point, $14.99 summer discovery!!
You will go through this case much faster than you think.

You normally stop in and pick up your standard bottle of Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc.  Perhaps reach for a bottle of Albarino or Torrontes.  Today ... reach for this.  You will be thanking us later!!

La Bollina's "Ventola" Gavi DOCG 2014 is a clean, fresh white made 100% from Piedmont's famous Cortese grape. This wine spends most of its fermentation in stainless steel tanks before finishing in French oak barrels.  Its straw-yellow color and golden reflections make promises that a bouquet of jasmine and a palate of pear, peach, almond, and vanilla are sure to keep.  Persistent minerality and crisp acidity balance the soft, natural fruit, making this wine the perfect accompaniment for shellfish, crudo, and chicken over salad.

Judging it to be one of "Italy's Best Wines of 2016", Luca Maroni awarded "Ventola" 2014 92 points (Consistency: 30, Balance: 31, Integrity: 31) and named it to his 2016 Annuario dei Migliori Vini Italiani.

Parachute pants. Fanny packs. Mullets. Some 80s trends don’t deserve revival ... Others do.
This is one that does

While we won’t debate the merits of 80s fashion or music, we will defend one of the decade’s most popular wine trends: Gavi, a crisp Italian white wine that isn’t Pinot Grigio.

While Gavi of the 80s may have been less than stellar, today’s Gavi is a different story. It’s revamped. It’s better. The yields are lower, the practices in the vineyards and the cellar much improved. The result? Well-crafted, delicious wines.

Today, we bring back Gavi in a good way. Let’s say it’s the wine lover’s ultimate #ThrowbackThursday.

Rewind for a bit of background info: Gavi is made from the Cortese grape, a high-acid variety, grown in the Piedmont. Gavi was becoming super popular in the 80s. High demand spurred high production at unsupportable rates of growth. How could producers maintain quality while increasing the cases they produced in such a short time? Then, whites from Northeastern Italy made a splash in our domestic wine scene. The competition was fierce. How could estates that produce Gavi keep up?

Many simply couldn’t.

Until now.

La Bollina has given us the wine we have been looking for, a reason to bring Gavi back! This summer, we are making La Bollina’s Ventola our staple wine for seafood of all kinds.

A wine worthy of meditation, and priced for everyday enjoyment

There is just so much to love here.

It starts with exotic blossoms on the nose. On the palate, a bright attack of summer ripe-on-the-vine honeydew melon. Then, the fruit evolves to juicy golden apples. The finish reveals a touch of minerality derived from the region’s soils. From the first sniffy-sniff to complexity on the mid-palate, followed by a long finish, this wine offers unreal complexity. Think about other $12-$18 bottles of white wine you’ve bought recently - how would they measure up?

The La Bollina Ventola Gavi Barrique is an affordable, by-the-case buy that you can meditate on, parsing out the floral, fruit and mineral elements...and, at this discounted price, simply pop, pour and enjoy the refreshment.

Our staple summer white for pools, pesce & pasta

Enjoy it on a lounge chair by the pool. With such bright acidity, this is an ultimate refresher.

Pair it with any seafood entree, even the most complex. It’s got that kind of structure.

Pour a glass with your next herb-dressed pasta dish. The wine is from Italy, after all.

How can this be? Is it really possible for one white wine to be so versatile, to fulfill all your summer wine needs? It might just be. Test it out at all your summer gatherings, with all your summer fare. Prove us right.

It’s time to try the “other white grapes.”

As Gary Vee says, he has been on a crusade to encourage you to try Italian white wines that are not Pinot Grigio. Heck, we love a good glass of Pinot Grigio as much as the next person. If that is the only white wine you’re enjoying, it might be time to broaden your horizons.

Don’t you tell your kids to try new foods all the time?

As for the adventurous foodie, there is much to be discovered by the adventurous wine lover. If you keep your eyes and mind open, there are also some amazing deals to be found - this is definitely one of them.
