Grana Padano is a hard, grainy Italian cheese made from partially skimmed raw cow's milk. Created in the 12th century by Cistercian monks in northern Italy's Po River Valley, it holds a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status. It features a savory, subtly sweet, and nutty flavor profile that is generally milder and less sharp than its famous counterpart, Parmigiano Reggiano.
