Product Description:

This block of Syrah is typically blended with the two other blocks at John Sebastiano to make up the “regular” Holus Bolus Syrah. 2016 was the 7th vintage working with these vines and the third vintage of bottling Franc De Pied. These own-rooted vines always grow smaller, produce a smaller clusters and make what Peter and Amy feel is one of the most unique wines in their cellar. In 2016 they isolated 125 cases of the own-rooted Alban clone of Syrah. The aromas are reminiscent of black olives, rosemary and smoke. Aged for 14 months in 2 and 3 year-old barrels.
