“The Lost Row Syrah is an anomaly. Literally a single row of fewer than 150 Syrah vines, it represents a unique exception to an otherwise fairly known Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard planted along the eastern bench of Napa Valley’s famed Stag’s Leap District. Here, the valley floor abuts the base of the Vaca Mountains providing a more distinctive alluvial profile for the Bale clay loam soils. In 2000, the Lost Row was grafted with old vine Australian Shiraz cuttings rather than the more ubiquitous French ENTAV / INRA clones now predominating California vineyards.”- Winery
