Vivid ruby. Dark berries, violet, sassafras and smoky minerals on the fragrant nose. Pliant blackberry and boysenberry flavors show very good focus and depth, picking up a spicy character with air. Finishes sappy and very long, with repeating dark berry and mineral notes and fine-grained tannins that come in late. -JR

It smells like rich, red, spicy fruit, very deep, dark and almost brooding but a lifted sweet freshness and light herbal character in there too. Char and earth are soft characters in the vocal fruit expression. To taste, slippery, silky, satiny and fleshy – a wash of rich, gently sweet fruit character with a lick of choc-mocha and dried herbs. Mouth-filling without going beyond medium weight, it’s a lush drink of bold and fruit-driven expression. Delicious. -MB
